Great Lakes Division

International Association of Fire Chiefs

The IAFC Great Lakes Division (GLD) is committed to assisting members with providing worthwhile programs designed to enhance firefighter safety and survival. In following this directive, the GLD Board of Directors formally endorsed the “Blue Card” Hazard Zone Management Program in 2009 as an industry “Best Practice”. The Board of Directors quickly recognized the significant impact that the Blue Card Program provides to local emergency responders.

In an effort to assist local fire department who may want to institute the Blue Card Program within their fire department or mutual aid system, the GLD has purchased a fully-equipped mobile Command Training Center (CTC). The mobile CTC is available free-of-charge to any IAFC-GLD member, with the following guidelines:

  • The Chief, or designee, must be a current GLD member.

  • The requesting agency must complete the Mobile CTC Agreement.

  • The equipment must be utilized by a Certified Blue Card Instructor.

  • The requesting agency agrees to pay all shipping cost, to and from the host agency.

  • The requesting agency will provide a minimum of $10,000 shipping insurance.

  • The requesting agency agrees to pay for any damages incurred to the equipment during use.

The IAFC Great Lakes Division’s Mobile CTC may be reserved on a “first come – first serve” basis. If interested in reserving the Great Lakes Division Mobile CTC, or for further information please contact:
